The holidays have come and gone, which means it’s time to get back into the swing of things and prepare for tax-return season. Start collecting your W-2s, which will be sent out within the next three weeks.
Some companies have an option where they will post the W-2s online, to save trees and money probably, but many will still be sending the W-2s by mail. Though the arrival time may differ between co-workers, the IRS requires that all W-2s be posted or postmarked no later than the 31st of January, but they may take up to two weeks to arrive in the mail.
Even though the ball was dropped in Times Square last week, we stay on the ball here at Stapley Accounting! Come visit us if you need any help with QuickBooks, payroll, or taxes!
